I have plenty of bad habits that make me a real bad girl. Below is the list of what I need to quit on doing. Please note that they are not in order of importance. I have written the first habit that came to my mind.

Bad Girl Habit #1: Not removing nail polish on my nails after a week, not even a couple of weeks after. Last week, friends tend to look the other way whenever I gestured with my fingers. One brave soul had the urge to tell me “One week lang kasi tingatanggal na ‘yan. “ That was the time when I finally had a resolve to make an effort to go find and buy an acetone.

What I Should Do: As I’ve read from magazines a million times, nail polish should not cling on our nails for too long unless we want to have yellow and damaged nails. I have rid my fingernails of black nail polish last Thursday. I’ll start on my toenails later today.

Bad Girl Habit #2: Holding my pee for too long. Kakatamad tumayo eh! Especially when I’m at work and our manager is at his desk. His area used to be everybody’s shortcut to the ladies room. Whenever he’s on his station, girls from our area need to go on a trip around the floor just to get to the washroom.

What I Should Do: Huwag tiisin ang weewee! I should make it a habit to make a trip to the washroom as soon as I feel the need to pee. No excuses. Go lang ng go! Like now. Excuse me…may I go out?

Bad Girl Habit #3: Being late – even on appointments.

What I Should Do: At a Sunday service, Bro Ardy once said that being on time is like respecting other people’s time. He even shared a practice which his father had trained them to do: being at the venue an hour before the appointed time. He said that at first, he was puzzled with this unusual practice so he asked his dad why they need to do it. His very punctual father explained that being an hour early gives them the right to leave whenever the person they are about to meet does not arrive on schedule. Makes sense! It’s a god practice that I should acquire. Starting today, I would force myself to be at the venue at least 30 minutes earlier. I will double the effort especially when I need to pass through SLEX . Skyway’s Stage 2 construction is in progress which makes traffic really, really bad. Once while riding on a bus, I had fallen asleep. I woke up thinking that we were probably in Nichols only to find out that we’re still in Sucat stuck in heavy traffic. Bongga!

Last night, I said to myself, “I would wake up early tomorrow. Go to school with D to pay for his TF and drop by Philam’s office to get the forms.” I then went to bed – at 2:30 AM. Good luck on my I-would-wake-up-early-tomorrow plan!

Gising na!” came my Mom’s voice. I jolted, looked at the clock and was aghast to see that it’s already 9:30 in the morning. I then forced myself to get up, tidy  my bed and eat breakfast with The Fam. A couple of hours later, I am still here at home. Tapping on my computer while waiting for my Dad. We’ll go out of the house together.

So much for being for early!

Last Friday, C and I went to check out the Elorde Boxing Gym in Arnaiz. We both agreed the night before that if we’re going to do boxing, then it must be at Elorde’s because it’s simply the one trusted gym and the authority when it comes to boxing. A couple of days ago, we were contemplating on checking out the Punch Out Boxing Club in Dela Costa too, but then another colleague of ours told us that according to his cousin, the club’s facilities are bulok. That was when we crossed out Punch Out from our list – only to put it back days after.

Come Friday, the day of our ocular inspection, I was an hour late, thanks to the slow moving traffic brought about by the Stage 2 construction of Skyway. I apologized profusely to C and though he was smiling, I can tell that he was a bit annoyed. Glad that he didn’t really show it :)

After sweating while walking for a few minutes, we finally reached the old Anson’s building where the Elorde Gym is located. We approached the lady in the reception and inquired about the rates so she gave us flyers. We then asked a few questions like if they have female students and if, by any chance, they have a female trainer. She said that the females do boxing in the evening. I also asked if we can have a look at their shower rooms.  I took a peek and decided that it’s clean enough (I just have to wear slippers when taking a shower). C and I looked at each other and he said “Pag-usapan muna natin.” We then thanked the lady and turned to leave.

What made us change our minds about Elorde? Abangan ;)

The deadline for the submission of entries for the Palanca Memorial Awards ended 30 minutes ago.

E and I didn’t make to the deadline :(

We heard about it just three weeks ago  and with our current workload, it would be impossible for us, even E, who’s a seasoned writer already, to make a draft.

Oh well, we can join next year, right E?

Heaps of Tissue

Heaps of Tissue

In a matter of two hours, I was able to accumulate the heaps of tissue in the photo above. I’ve been having this pesky allergic rhinitis (AR) again!

My nose and my eyes began to itch just a few minutes after stepping inside the conference room which served as the venue for our group meeting earlier this evening. The admin had just turned off the AC as part of the company’s cost cutting measures.

Whenever there’s a sudden change of temperature, my senses would react to the shift and aside from the itchiness, I would always sneeze for three times at each interval. So while I was in the meeting, I kept on twitching my nose and rubbing my left eye. Luckily, my friend MZ was there and she obliged to do the note-taking on my behalf (tenchu dear!) By the end of the meeting, I was already sneezing and cursing AR for making a comeback.

Up until this hour, AR has been keeping me company. I’m praying that when I get up later this morning, AR would disappear and wouldn’t come back, ever!

Every night, I would spend more time visiting other people’s blogs and hop from one blog to another rather than update and maintain my own site.

Not that I consider blog hopping as a mortal sin but I think that I should write as much as I read other people’s thoughts (through their blogs, of course!), right?

This might take some time and lots of practice too because I’ve had this habit for almost three years already.

Wish me luck!

My Niveas

My Niveas

It started with a Nivea Lip Gloss.

Followed by a Nivea Deodorant.

Bought a Nivea Refreshing Milk Protect for my face and of course, a Nivea UV Protection Lotion for my body.

Decided to try Nivea Extra Whitening Deodorant for my underarms.

I was not aware of the fact that I’ve been using products from a single line of skin care. This realization only came when I was tidying up the dresser which I’m sharing with my sis. I gawked, “Nyak! Puro Nivea pala ang gamit ko?!” Note to Nivea peeps: Please don’t mistake the “Nyak” part as negative. The comment was made due to my amazement. It was so unusual for me to use several products under the same brand. Proof? The St Ives Eye Stress Gel in the background!

Happy Easter everyone!

We had just finished celebrating Easter here at home. We never really had a celebration of sorts to mark the end of Holy Week until today. When our parents came home from their weekly market/grocery shopping, they announced that they bought Red Horse for us and that Dad will even cook pulutan  which we could enjoy while doing the videoke. “Pasko naman e,” they beamed. We all agreed :)

Before the celebration began, I went to church to attend the 4pm service and did a couple of errands. When I got home, Dad has just finished cooking our pulutan and my brother N began to set up the videoke. Three hours later, he and I had more than our fair share of the booze. Our youngest brother didn’t partake in the booze part because he is not feeling well so he jast sang a few songs while slouching on the chair.

I could tell that my brother N and I enjoyed Easter this 2009. I consider this night as our bonding time which we rarely have the time to do. Spending time with a sib and having fun while we’re at it is such a blessing ;)
